FIRST SHOW OF 2011-2012 SEASON

Sealed for Freshness

By Doug Stone
7:30 p.m., Oct. 5–8, 2011
[ PG-13–Mild Language ]
This raucous comedy is set in 1968 during the heyday of Tupperware parties. Hostess Bonnie invites a group of neighbors over for a party. The guest list: perky, rich Jean; Jean’s cranky and very pregnant sister, Sinclair; ditzy-blonde Tracy Ann; and new neighbor Diane, who’s made quite a career selling Tupperware, but at the expense of her marriage. The mix of personalities and the number of martinis consumed lead to a great deal of absurd high jinks plus revelations of an equal number of secrets and insecurities. The play “makes its audiences loopy with giddiness.” It’s one you won’t want to miss!

Warehouse Update

Posted: March 10, 2011 in Warehouse News

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Warehouse Theatre Company and surrounding community:

The Young and Fair was a success! Thank you to everyone involved and all those who came out to support the company!

Coming up soon will be elections for next year’s Warehouse Board. There are 9 positions to be filled:

  • Chairwoman
  • Artistic Director
  • Production Stage Manager
  • Public Relations Director
  • Business Manager
  • Performance Liaison
  • Dramaturge
  • Secretary
  • Male Representative

The positions for Class Representative are not picked until the following year.

Information will be going up soon on the callboard about what each of these positions entails. If you are interested in learning how to run a theatre company, how to better communicate and work with a group of people, or if you’re interested in trying a new branch of the theatre you hadn’t tried before–this is your time!

If you decide you’d like to run for a position, we encourage you to come speak to the current board member in that position about details or ask to shadow them for a period of time. Being on the board can be a lot of work, but it’s one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done this year!

Mara McEwin is a Stephen’s Alumn that just recently came to visit. Some of you students might have met her and had the opportunity to hear about Treehouse Shakers (the theatre company she co-founded) and storytelling. This is a recent guest blog post she did that talks about arts education for children!
